Navigating Lisbon: A Guide to Getting Around the City

 by Mariam SAAD

Getting around Lisbon is relatively easy thanks to its extensive public transportation system. Here are some of the most common modes of transportation in Lisbon:

1. Metro: The Lisbon Metro is a fast, efficient way to get around the city. There are four lines that connect most of the major areas of the city, including the airport, and trains run from 6:30am to 1am.

2. Tram: Lisbon's historic trams are a fun and scenic way to get around the city, and Tram 28 in particular is a popular tourist attraction that winds through some of the city's most picturesque neighborhoods.

3. Bus: The city's bus network is extensive, and is a good option for reaching areas that aren't served by the metro or tram.

4. Train: The suburban train network connects Lisbon to nearby towns and cities, and is a good option for day trips outside of the city.

5. Taxi: Taxis are widely available throughout Lisbon, and are a convenient option for getting around quickly, especially if you're traveling in a group.

6. Bike: Lisbon is a relatively bike-friendly city, and there are several bike rental companies that offer bike-sharing services.

7. Walk: Many of Lisbon's neighborhoods are best explored on foot, and walking is a great way to take in the city's sights and sounds at a leisurely pace.
